When a review breaks a rule, we make one of two decisions. Both mean the review is no longer shown on the company's profile, but you have different options afterwards.
Held back
The review breaks a rule, but it can be fixed. Typically it's a single thing, e.g. a full name, a phone number or a link.
- The status under My profile is Held back.
- You can choose Edit and resubmit and fix what the decision is about.
- You can also choose Appeal the decision if you think the review doesn't break the rule.
Removed
The review breaks the rules in a way that can't be fixed, e.g. because it isn't based on a real experience.
- The status under My profile is Removed.
- You can't edit a removed review.
- You can choose Appeal the decision within 6 months.
- If you've had a new, genuine experience with the company, you can write a new review.
Being checked
If you see the status Being checked, no decision has been made. We're checking the review, and it normally becomes public within a few minutes.
What about the SaysScore?
A review that has been held back or removed doesn't count towards the company's SaysScore. If your appeal is upheld, or you edit the review so it becomes public again, it counts again.
