Customise a widget in Widget studio

Choose style, colours, shape, font, language and texts for each widget. Changes are saved straight away, and Reset only applies to the selected one.

You'll find Widget studio under Widgets in the dashboard. On the left is the list of all widgets, in the middle the preview and the code, and on the right the Customise panel.

The preview

The preview uses your own SaysScore and your latest reviews. Above it you can switch between:

  • Desktop and Mobile.
  • The Light, Dark and Photo backgrounds, so you can see the widget on a page that looks like yours.
  • Normal, Loading and No reviews, so you see how it looks while it's loading, and before there are reviews.

Click the widget to try it.

What you can customise

  • Style: six ready-made styles: Original light, Original dark, Brutal, Soft, Minimal and Nordic.
  • Colours: Stars and buttons, Background, Text, Muted text, Border, Surfaces and Empty stars. Choose one of the suggestions, or pick a colour yourself.
  • Shape and text: Corners (0 to 24 px), Border (0 to 4 px), Size (70 to 130%), Shadow, Star boxes and Font.
  • Language: Danish or English. Other languages can be set directly in the code. See Insert the code.
  • Texts: Word for a high score, Heading, Link to all reviews, Button text and Question for the customer. No more than 120 characters each.
  • Content: Show TrustSays logo and Star colour by score. If star colour is turned off, all stars have your colour.

Save and reset

  • Changes are saved by themselves, shortly after you've edited something.
  • The settings only apply to the widget you've selected. It says Applies to and the name only at the top of the panel.
  • A widget you've customised gets a small dot in the list.
  • Reset only sets the selected widget back to the default. The others aren't touched.

The code on your site doesn't change by itself. Copy the code again when you've customised a widget, and replace the old one.

If it doesn't work

  • Your role can see widgets but not change them: ask an owner or admin for the Admin or Marketing role. See Team and roles.
  • The change wasn't saved: try again shortly. If it keeps happening, contact us.
  • There isn't enough data yet: some widgets require e.g. topics or countries from the reviews. They're shown as soon as there's data.
