On this page
When something goes wrong, the widget hides itself completely instead of showing an error to your customers. This means there's just empty space. Go through the points in order.
There's just empty space
- Are both parts of the code included? Both the box and the script must be on the page.
- Is the domain correct? data-company must be the domain your profile has on TrustSays, without https:// and without a slash.
- Has the profile been claimed? Unclaimed and suspended profiles get no widget. See Create or claim your profile.
- Is the widget locked? See the next section.
- Is it only shown in certain cases? See further down.
- Has the page been published? Many editors don't show scripts in the preview.
403: the widget requires a paid plan
On Free only Mini works. If you use another widget, TrustSays responds with 403, and the widget is hidden. You can see this in the browser's developer tools under Network, on the request to api.trustsays.com/widget/v1/ and your domain.
The solution is to switch to Mini or upgrade. See Widgets on Free and on paid plans. The response may be cached for up to 5 minutes, so wait a little after upgrading, and reload.
It's only shown in certain cases
Some widgets are only shown when what they claim is true: Seal (verified company), Award (no. 1 in the category), Ranking (top 10), Compare (a position in the category), Always replies (over 80% replies), Before and after (the score is rising), Honest criticism, By country and Topics (data from the reviews). Q&A and Shop sign aren't shown yet. Widget studio says below the preview if a widget isn't shown on your site right now, and why.
Latest review is shown once per visit, and Mobile bar is only shown on narrow screens.
Wrong language
The language is set in data-lang. Change it, e.g. to sv or de, or remove it, so the widget follows the page's language. See Insert the code. Reviews are always shown in the language they were written in.
It looks wrong
Old colours or texts: the settings are in the code. Copy the code again in Widget studio and replace the old one. Clear the cache in your system and browser.
Cut off or too small: the widget is isolated from your CSS. If it's cut off, the box has too little space, e.g. in a Wix box or a narrow column. Give it more space, or choose a smaller widget.
If it still doesn't work, contact us with the address of the page and the name of the widget.
